Robin Kunath (PAYBACK): Continuous performance testing at scale

A tale about quality gates, release cycles, automated deployments, generating the right load, automated analysis of test results and displaying them in a simple way.

I will give an overview of our approach, concepts and tools on building a continuous performance pipeline to enable faster feedback for developers in a semi-agile release process. Including Jenkins, Elastic Stack, Grafana, Scala and Angular 2.

Harry Kimpel (New Relic): Docker performance monitoring … best practices and guidance to get you started

In this talk I want to share some of our own learnings in using a containerized service-model. What layers of your architecture should you consider? What are best practices when monitoring your infrastructure and applications? In a live demonstration I can then show you how application monitoring can be achieved with a custom Dockerfile. This can then be deployed in different environments like AWS EC2 Container Service or Azure Container Service using e.g. Kubernetes orchestration. We can also have a quick look into a new Azure service named Azure Container Instances (currently in preview) and how this helps to even further simplify the container orchestration. Finally, we can look into some valuable metrics and events that will be harvested for such an environment.
